Greetings!
My name is Kristin Shanley. I have been part of the Bethune staff since the Fall of 2010. I began as an Associate Educator working with small groups of students from grades K-5 in reading and math. This position gave me the opportunity to get to know many of our Bethune students.
I earned my degree in Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. After earning my degree, I spent several years teaching grades 1-3 in Stillwater, MN. In 2006, my husband and I moved to Chatham, NJ. I taught 2nd grade for one year. My last two years in NJ were spent working with grade 4 and 5 students with special needs. In 2010, I moved back to my homestate of MN. I reside in Minneapolis. I love living and teaching here!
I feel very fortunate to be the science teacher.
I believe all students are learners and I aim to provide a safe and positive learning environment. I will be alongside our students and guide them as they make their discoveries. Students will learn through meaningful experiences and appropriate social interactions.
I welcome the opportunity to speak with you. I can be reached at kristin.shanley@mpls.k12.mn.us
Thanks for visiting!
